Rachel & Nicole loves: Maryann Dolzani

Meet Maryann Dolzani, a jewelry designer from Connecticut.

” I started I AM MARYANN to feed my soul and from the response I have received, it’s clear that it has the potential to feed many souls. That is so inspiring. I AM LOVING it. “

We were lucky enough to stumble into her little pop-up store in the Hamptons this month and fell head over heels in love with her jewelry.

 “I am blessed”

Like Rachel always says, sometimes the most beautiful things lie in the heart of the simplest objects, such as these I AM jewelry.  What we love about these necklaces is that it’s one of those simple statement jewelries that you can throw on everyday and make it a part of you. It’s a great way to express yourself, what you stand for and what you believe in.

Here’s our little Q&A session with her!

What inspires you?

I am inspired by people. I’m most attracted to and inspired by people who are creative, open to change and authentic.

What triggered you to start making these “I AM” jewelry?

I was in a funky place and realized I needed to feed my soul.
As a kid I was always drawing pictures or taking pictures. I realized I needed to make some space for me to be more creative.  In this process, I was listening to a song my husband wrote (who is a talented musician). Some of the lyrics are… ‘I am broken…I am healing’. I had a moment where I realized we all have these I AM statements, some that hold us back, others that keep us present and move us forward. I envisioned a way to share that strong message with jewelry.

How long does it take to create a single charm?

There is a process to making the charms and several steps… Of which are not all done one right after the other. To do the first step of hand stamping each word, I could do a few in a few minutes.

 “I am fearless” , “I am grateful” , “I am happy” , “I am strong”

What was the first charm that you came up with?

I can’t remember the first one. Once I opened myself up to all the possible I AM statements there was a rush of words. I typed them all up and keep adding.  When I first started I made several words and haven’t stopped.

What do you like to do when you’re not making charms?

I love hanging out with my family and exploring new places.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where will you be?

In a city. Exploring. Learning. Eating.  And then I would take a trip to a beach and do nothing. :)

What do you collect?

Rocks and shells from the beach.

In three words, describe your “I AM” collection.

Personal. Strong. Universal.

What’s your favorite way to wear the “I AM” necklaces?

I wear my I AM necklace alone and also stacked with other pieces.

Here’s our favorite one: “I am enough”

So there you have it, start coming up with your personal mantras and make this “I AM” jewelry a part of you. These beautiful charms will be given away at this year’s Golden Globes to the creme de la creme of the film industry.
And now, you can get your own at www.iammaryann.com. Don’t forget to tell Maryann that Rachel & Nicole sent you!!

XOXO,
Rachel & Nicole

P.S. We’ve gotten our “I AM” jewelries and will be posting it up soon!
Can you guys guess what “word” we chose as our mantra?
