Jenny Packham FW13
Photography by Rachel et Nicole
Jenny’s show echoed the life of porcelain dolls in flowing gowns. It was a flurry of silk, chiffon and shiny beads floating down the runway. It somehow reminded us of a velvet playroom in a huge mansion somewhere in Maine.
We were in love with the Packham color palette this season. They were soft and elegant, even though the collection consisted of a number of bold red dresses. The models had their hair in loose ponytail, with a simple ribbon. (Totally seeing Kate Middleton in some of these pieces.)
The final dress was an absolute stunner - a simple piece with turqouise rouching and diamonds sprinkled all over her shoulders and décollatage.
Let’s play dress up again.

Falguni and Shane Peacock FW13
Photography by Rachel et Nicole
Oh yes, Falguni and Shane, we are going to be Wild Childs (or is it Wild Children? Ah, it’s Fashion Week, who cares about grammar). Your gowns are bold, brash, beautiful and to die for.
A combination of mesh, feathers and studs, this collection promises to bend every possible rule out there and make your headmaster’s glasses fog over. Having run-ins with the law have never felt better. The shiny corsets the models were in seemed more like an armor and we can’t wait to get our hands on it - although we have no clue where to wear it to.
The models strutted down the runway, proud and strong with a hint of mischief in their eyes, if we may say so. The music was a mash of classic lullabies and Skrillex - perfect to set the mood for the show.
Thanks to you, Falguni & Shane, we found our inner badass, and we think we’ll be sticking to it for a while.

Hood By Air FW13
Photography by Rachel et Nicole
Hood by Air had an underground appeal of intense cool and mystery. The strobe lights and smog filled the room as the audience’s adrenaline started pulsing throughout their bodies.
The collection was a complex layered look of tees, geometrical jackets and hoodies with unrivaled prints. Throw in perfoming genius Boy Child, Willy Cartier (whom we are obsessed with) and A$AP Rocky to close the show, it was a no brainer as to why Hood by Air became the most talked about show of the season.
Also, the Final Walk was such a FASHION KILLA.

Winter Palace by Clover Canyon FW13
Photography by yours truly-
We didn’t need anyone to tell us what the theme of the show was. The models had a beautiful up-do with a fluffed-out bun and a simple hairband while clad in the infamous Clover Canyon prints.
It was a general hue of blues and whites, which reminded us of an icy winter- a romantic Siberian one. For Fall ‘13, Clover Canyon pays homage to Russia, weaving printed ballerinas and Siberian plains into their garments. Swarovski pumps and ballet pointe shoes fit these models’ feet like Cinderella’s glass slippers as they stood quietly in front of the winter backdrop, their eyes blinking softly.
The prints on these clothes contained a collage of dreams - winged horses, ballerinas in fluffy white tutus, golden swans and a crystal palace. It was no wonder that we (especially Rachel) kept sighing over these pieces. It took Nicole a good amount of time to convince Rachel to leave the show that day. For the record, we ended up staying till the models left the stage.
Congratulations Clover Canyon, we think it’s safe to say everything was en pointe.
